Overnight Oats

overnight oats.jpg

Ingredients – serves 1

36g oats

200ml cold water - trust me it makes it so creamy when using water

50ml milk or milk alternative

Tbsp low fat natural yoghurt (I use Fage)

5g honey

5g mixed seeds

15 cashews and/or almonds

Tsp almond butter to add as a topping in the morning if you want

Fruit of your choice – apple, pear, banana, berries (I like to slightly microwave berries so that the oats take on a lovely colour)

Method

  1. As I previously said I like to microwave the berries for 30 seconds – 1 minute first.  Feel free to skip this step if you want

  2. Add all of your ingredients to the berries (if using) or just combine all your ingredients together – don’t worry if it is really watery that is what we want – stir thoroughly

  3. Cover and place in the fridge overnight

  4. In the morning give the oats a stir and if needed add slightly more water or milk if it is too thick.

  5. Sit down and enjoy!

Fancy it warm?  Just place in the microwave for 2 minutes.
