Porridge

Ingredients – serves 1

36g oats

200ml cold water - trust me it makes it so creamy when using water

50ml milk or milk alternative

6g almond butter

10g dark chocolate 70% or higher

5g honey

5g mixed seeds

Salt to taste

Fruit of your choice – apple, pear, banana, berries (I usually use 50g blueberries, 40g strawberries, 50 raspberries)

Let your imagination go wild.  I eat this every morning but experiment with different toppings!

 

Method

  1. Add the oats and water to a microwave safe bowl and put in the microwave for 2 minutes – keep your eyes on it so it doesn’t boil over

  2. Take out of microwave and add honey, salt, milk (or milk alternative) – mix

  3. Put back in microwave for 1 minute

  4. Take out and add the rest of your toppings.  Another favorite of mine is using apple and a dash of cinnamon

  5. Sit down and enjoy!

 

This is a great way to get the kids involved.  Wait until cooled slightly then get them to add their toppings – make smiley faces, animals etc.  Tag me on social media and show me your version!
